Going to work in Russia for a Belgian?

I am going to Moscow to work for a an english company based in London, which is a subcontractor of a international US company which has a representative office there. I am going with a 12 month business visa.

Can somebody tell me:

1. What is the local document that i need to work (eventualy, what is the fee taken by the local companies that arrange these matters)

2. What are the taxes (I will be resident there for 12 months and I am Belgian)

M,

I hope you don't mean by your nick and convoluted job story that you are going there to help out troubled 007's...

One comment on liberal Russian taxes for Belgian nationals though mimi is technically right, it is a bit more complex if your 12 months are not exactly a calendar year residents (i.e. living there more than 6 months in a calendar year) pay 13%, non-residents (respectively, living less than 6 months) pay 30% on income in Russia. However, Russian residents are taxed on worldwide income -- not so much a danger to pay more (Arkady is right about double taxation treaties), but the paperwork could be a pain in the neck. In any case it is very much advisable that your employer provides you tax assistance.

In terms of visas, if it is still needed -- try http//www.tmtclassifieds.ru/cgi-bin/category?cid=15

Enjoy!

more specific : you pay 30% taxes during first 8 months and if you stay to work any longer in Russia you taxes will decline to 13%

Your Moscow-based London-linked US-sub company should be aware of what documents they need to get obtained to enroll non-resident. Basically you should have local work permit for which your employer is to apply. Russia has agreements with USA, UK and Belgium about avoiding double-taxation, Russian tax system is very liberal with all-in-all-income-tax of 13% no matter what your income is.
